Default Twin Star baby blankets

I saw a block once that I thought would look great expanded from a 12" to a 36" for baby blankets for twins:

http://www.quilterscache.com/V/VOS_EllensStarBlock.html

I finally got around to doing it for a coworker's friend who recently had twins. It was challenging finding the right colors and fabrics, as the mother's preferences were such that I don't have in my stash, so I used this fabric, which I love. It's not traditional baby, but apparently under the circumstances that is just as well.

I used minky for the turquoise square in the stars and on the back, and this time around it was most uncooperative. Nevertheless, the project is done and I can cross this off my list. I did contemplate making another blanket for an older sibling, but now I am not so inclined, lol.

What a great pattern to use for twins! And if the mother prefers these colors, then the quilts are perfect for these babies. Can't get better than that.
