Default Twirly Whirly Feathers!

So, I was racking my brain today, trying to figure out something different to quilt in a border on a quilt I made for my son and daughter-in-law. I searched high and low in all the photos here on the board but didn't see anything I could accomplish. I remembered I had the DVD of Twirly Whirly Feathers by Kim Brunner and decided to give it a shot. After watching it, I drew on paper for a while and figured (since it was for family) what harm could I do? Much to my surprise, it wasn't as hard as I thought! I think I've had the DVD for 2 years now! Just need to practice a little more going in different directions but I am quite happy with my first attempt!
Anyone out there have any other tips on feathers? I can't seem to do as good a job going vertically. Any suggestions?

I think you've done a great job on your feathers - especially for your first time!

You did good job esp. for first time doing feathers. I've never tried feathers but can do simpler stuff like stars & loops.
