Default Twister - American Flag (2 of 'em)

This is a pattern I designed myself. It's going to be a shop sample for the quilt shop where I work. I used the 5" charm squares to make the first flag, which is 18" x 18". I then used the scraps (2.5" squares) from cutting it and the Itsy Bitsy Twister tool to make the little baby flag, which is 7" x 7". It was tough dealing with all of those seams, but came out so gosh darn adorable that I know I'll be making more.

I did the quilting myself. I did the "big" one on my Tin Lizzie, and the little one on my Bernina. Stars for the blue and a wavy line for the red and white.

I kept the fabrics in the same spot in each flag, so it's kind of cool to compare how they look in the bigger and smaller flags.

Very cute. I may need to do something like that for my patriotic quilt -- I have a lot of random patriotic fabric pieces left over from other projects.

Too cool! Can I "borrow" your idea for one of the QOV's I want to make this year? It would be much appreciated. Thanks for sharing these beauties with us!
