For Bro in law, maybe rice bags you heat in the microwave or freeze, for aches & pains? Very inexpensive & they are used over & over. Have had mine for well over 12 yrs. Just an idea.
Thanks pat. I gave them all these bags four years ago filled with flax seed.

The one you asked about is a Simplicty number 3828, SuziSew. I apologize, I should have given credit to the pattern makers of each purse. The first post had Vogue V8140 for the basketball purse and the swimmers was a McCall's M5119. (Which I hated the McCall's and had to remodel with lots of hand hemming the last construction part so there was no raw edges on the finished bag. Don't recommend it at all, girls)

The last one (tennis) was a free pattern from the pellon site as a download. I love all of the nice downloads there. And Free, who can beat that? It was supposed to have ties to keep it closed properly, but, I plan on using the magnets again with those little drop pockets like I have on a couple of my purses I have bought. I will just make a small pocket for each magnet and sew it on similar to the way you add belt loops to enclose the raw edges. If that makes any sense. I am very bad at instructions. LOL!

Even though there were lots of nice suggestions, I didn't comment of every one. Sorry, but I thank you all commenting and for telling me your suggestion for my BIL.

If you have sewn any type of clothing in years past, or are willing to learn something new, you can make purses. Honestly, it just takes a little time and thought. Like quilting I suppose, buddy's mom.

I started out with the bow tuck tote bag and it has taken off from there for me. There are so many new patterns and hardware available now to make them. Really fun! Sometimes a little frustrating to understand the instructions, but fun. I sometimes have to read what they are saying and then think about it a while before doing it. If that makes any sense. I like to add little conveniences to the bags that aren't in the pattern, like key leashes and extra pockets. But, that is because I know what a good organizational purse should have. I suppose anyone does that has had a great purse they like. Right?

I love your purses and I agree with Tartan, a manly apron for outdoor cooking would be great.
