I made these tote bags for my 2 nieces for Xmas, they are 6&8 years old. I used scraps leftover from my Crazy Cat Quilt.
The scrap size decided the size of the tote. These are scrappy totes, the fronts and backs are all different fabrics. I quilted the fabric to make it sturdier. And used a cotton/poly blend fabric for the lining and handles for durability. Personalized them with their name and a cute little crochet flower to "dot" the I.
I used velcro for the closing so they don't loose all
their treasures. Which I plan to include in the totes. :D

Marcia, I machine embroidered the names on the pockets,
lined the pockets after I hand stitched the flowers on.
Then stitched the pockets to the front of the totes.
