Thank you for the kind words! The bags people leave are almost always just scraps and I haven't a clue who is doing it. Sometimes there are discarded blocks or sad failures thrown in, and I might try to save those. I have to go through the bags carefully, I never know what will be found in there! Once a CD, a rotary blade, very often there are sewing pins...and once a bra! It wasn't even cotton...
As soon as I quilt it, I'll show you another "save" that I had to resew almost every single seam. It came out quite beautiful, but really would have been easier to have made it from scratch!
No fabric scrap shall go to waste! LOL! They all get minced up and a few of us in the guild use them to make pet beds for our local animal shelter.
How I made this was I measured and cut 2" to one side of the vertical seams, top to bottom, and sewed in the pink strip. Then I cut 2" below the horizontal seams and sewed in the pink strips. Then I just bordered the thing and the top was done.

I love the rose sashing- what a great idea. I have a friend who likes to buy panels and add boarders to make into a bed size. The idea of looking thru a window is just awesome. I can't wait to share that idea with her! Thanks!
