This is a wallhanging I made for myself called "Under Water Fanta-Sea" in 2004.

Yes, I made the treasure chest a little 3D-ish. I didn't have any gold coin buttons so I used some gold toned buttons and some that looked like jewels for the loot. A few years after I made this I found some gold coins that came on a roll by the yard that I could have used but decided to leave it this way. I put in a few star shaped buttons for starfish, and there is a crab and lobster button in there also. I made it using buttons, specialty threads for the seaweed, beads, faux pearls, and machine appliqued some of the fish with metallic and halogram threads. Some of the fish were hand made including the seahorses, tiger fish and a school of blue fish. The others were cut from fabric and machine appliqued also using the metallic threads. I need to take a better picture to show the complete wallhanging and also take some closeups. The finished size is approximately 34x34 inches. Thank you for the nice comments.

That is so creative. My youngest daughter would snap that up in a second. (She is 21)
