Default Update: the Cat in the Hat baby quilt

Thanks so much for the good ideas. I ended up tracing the hats onto vellum and practiced my fmq on them. No quilt police, please. I'm still learning fmq. It still needs a label, and I'll take it baby Jolie on Friday. We just got great news...our son got a job in Buckeye so they will be moving here from Illinois in April. Grammy gets to have her baby girls nearby! I'm so excited!

It is a cutie. I am so happy for you that your family is moving close so you can enjoy being Grandmother more. Being a Grandmother is tops in my book.

Oh my how super cute! I just made my husband (yes my husband) a Dr. Seus quilt and was thinking of using a panel for the back side. After seeing yours I am definitely going to use a panel for the back side. Its like having 2 quilts in one. Love it! Thanks for inspiring me.

Really like your quilt. Perfect for a grandchild. Mine have outgrown their childhood quilts, so I get to move on to making them something more current. Looking forward to planning it with them. Maybe get them for a visit so we can make them together. I am doing a lot of charity quilts, so can always use this idea for that.
Great job.
