As you may remember my DGD painted her bedroom Kawasaki Green and pink, and I am making her a new quilt for Christmas. Here is what I have done this week. Now my question is this. As well as I thought I had planned, the quilt side ended up a couple inches wider than the fleece side. It is for a twin bed. My thought now is to get some green fleece and make a border on the fleece side, and bind it over to the flannel side. My original plan was to use the pictured stripe for a sashing strip and then the fushia dots for the border. Now I don't much like the dots with it. There are fushia flowers in the cats. Opinions please......

I love your top, but I am not sure about the fuschia.

I agree. I ordered it from fabric.com where I got a lot of the greens. You know how it is...have to audition several fabrics to find just the right one. Didn't see anything at Joann's I liked any better. But I did see that they have lime green fleece; didn't have time to get it that day.

I like the cat material. It blends nicely with the pink and green, I think the black it make its pop out.

Okay, the dots are gone. Should I just do the stripes as a border with no sashing? I saw her room and she has pink, green, & white stripe curtains, similar to the stripe. She is a cat lover; hence the cat fleece. I thought it would also help cut the shock of the green walls.

I like the cats first, and second, the stripes. The dots don't quite make it.
Very cute snuggly quilt.
