My newest baby quilt - ready for a peek?

terri,
I screwed up the first time and posted again under 2nd try!
How are things today for you in Guam?
I found a steal at Walmart today, fabric I had seen at Hancock's for $5.98 per yard was reduced to $2.00 per yard. I bought 3 yards just for the heck of it.
Great for my stash!

I guess all of you know that all the Walmart's are supposedly closing the fabric and notions department of all of their stores. One lady told me it is because they are not able to get fabric (????) and that department is not making a profit (????). With so many thousands of sewers, quilters, crafters, etc., why wouldn't they be able to make a profit? I have found many great deals on fabrics and notions at Walmart. If you want these departments to stay open at your local Walmart, then go to Walmart.com and their corporate website too, and send them an email and ask them not to close these departments. If you are in a guild of some sort, discuss this at your next meeting and ask everyone to please email Walmart too. :) Thanks. Have a great weekend!

That is so hard to believe that Wal-Mart of all places cant get any fabric! Maybe it is because the textile industry won't let wal-mart bully them on the prices.
Our Wal-Mart did away with all its fabric and still has some notions. When they had fabric that department was usually busy. If it wasn't it was because there wasn't an associate to cut the fabric for you.
It seems that one dept could stand to break even..........they would at least have a tax write off.
Sorry I had to vent!!!
