I fell heir to a couple "bins full" of (discontinued) Upholstery Samples from a furniture store and thought I would share one of the projects I have been using them for. These purses have "four pockets" inside, in the bag lining ..... and "two pockets" on the outside (at each side/end) of the bag. Just like any of us who sew ..... "Where there is will, there is a way" in putting together and making use of all kinds of scraps, leftovers, etc.

I was on a "roll" and set-up an assembly line and made seven of these bags.

Very nice to get so many of them finished for christmas! I like the way that you left the gromets to use as a hole for the handles on the tan and rust one. Very clever!

Upholstery fabric is great for bags you need little or no stabilizer and batting. Nice work!

Those are not gromets ...... they are "buttons". I use "four" large buttons where the handles are attached ...... and a total of "six" smaller matching buttons ("three" sewn on the center seam line - outside of bag) on "each side".

Hey, you could sell those. I'd like one, if you have any extra. Not into the girly bags that so many make, but I could see using one of those.
