I scored on 10 fat quarters of Moda's line from Basic Gray -- Urban Couture (?sp). If any of you were scrapbookers a few years back, it was first a paper line, then adapted to fabric. According to the saleslady and my LQS, it just didn't take off with most quilters -- admittedly it is pretty taste-specific, melding some grunge and aging with an offbeat pallet -- but I liked it as paper, and I love it as fabric.
Because the fabrics as a collection are the star of this quilt, I left the blocks quite large. The sashing strips are some remnant yardage identified only as "willow" on the bolt -- not from the same fabric line, but I felt they tied in well color and style wise.
I love taking photos of the design wall --- there are always things that show up on the photo, or on the computer screen, that I just don't notice when I'm in the thick of arranging blocks. I already see things I want to switch around a bit.
