My son and his wife are expecting their first child this summer and decided on a monkey theme. For his birthday, he asked for the wall decals for the nursery.

He knows I just started quilting last year and mentioned that I shouldn't make a quilt as so many people give receiving blankets and quilts at the baby shower.

Being new at quilting, I wanted something I had done in the room so I decided on a wall-hanging instead. They already have their main present from us, a car seat/stroller set, but I wanted to bring something to the shower.

This is what I came up with, I hope they like it. I know I made mistakes in it but the baby won't notice.

That's soooo cute. One of my grandsons is so chunky that I call him my chunky monkey so his mom changed his theme to monkeys.

the wall hanging is adorable. But ya know what. There is nothing like a quilt from Grandma. My gd recently had a little boy (yeah, I am a GREAT grandma) and I made him a quilt which my gd loves. Yes, he did get a couple others, but she says mine is the best. And it will be with him forever. I am sorry your son feels like that.
