    Default Vintage Polyester String Quilt

This is a picture of a string quilt my ex-husband's mother made for DD when she was born in November, 1976. It is made with 100% polyester material scraps from the sewing room at the nervous hospital where she worked. The binding is the backing material brought to the front and sewn down with a machine. The quilt was only tied at the corners of the blocks. Unfortunately, some of the strings have come undone. My DD has asked me to fix the strings that need fixing and to run a meander quilting throught the quilt to reinforce it for further use. I am only too happy to help her with this project.

Very pretty quilt! It's nice that you are repairing it.

Those quilts wear like iron. The thread may fail but the fabric never fades
