I have just made this crazy patch heart, part filled with lavender, for hanging from a door or drawer knob, for a friend's 70th birthday. This is a lady who collects antique dolls and in fact she is in US at the moment attending a workshop and seminar. I think she will love it but so do I! Of course you never get around to making things for yourself, do you.

Back. I have since added a little butterfly to cover the ribbon join at the top

Front. It is made mostly from dupion silk and velvets and has beading which is a bit hard to see in the photograph.

Absolutely adorable. I would love to get a pattern for that. A very elegant touch. Great job.

Very pretty! I'm sure she will love it.
Yes, we do put ourselves on the bottom of the list sometimes. Darn.

It came out of my head. Just start with any heart shape and off you go.

I don't think my head is trained to think that way (so elegantly artistic). Might have to do a trial run and see what it can come up with.

I look at that and imagine you probably had ancestors that use to sit and sew the crazy quilts that were so beautifully embellished centuries ago.

Oh, that is sweet! Give yourself permission to make another for yourself!
