Wallhanging I'm making for a friend...
I have 2 dd's getting married this summer...one this weekend and one in August. The one this weekend is wearing my wedding dress and the one in August a friend is custom making for her. My friend hopes to make wedding dresses and such full time after she retires. She is having fun doing this I think. Anyway...she won't let me pay her for this. Instead she wants a wallhanging to put in their new beach home. She loved the blues and greens I picked out for dd's wedding quilt so I'm going to attempt an "art" quilt for her. I looked at pictures online for hours and finally came up with some ideas I liked. I like "old" quilts best....art quilts are not my thing so I am way out of my comfort zone here. But here's what I've come up with so far. Next week when it's calm I hope to get at least the background done. Then I''ll figure out how to do the seaweed and fish on it. I'm planning on a scalloped border too.
oh and ignore the laundry waiting to be folded......I'd MUCH rather play with fabric than do that! lol.

Love it! Just my opinion, but I'd not use the lighter brown. The rest of it is very intense and shouts "look at me", and the lighter brown is, in comparison, wimpy..... just my humble opinion. Will this pass the the QB police? Don't mean to be negative, just an observation. As your first art quilt, it is very impressive!!!
