I agree that just another solid color border would be best. Don't overthink it!

I agree that piano keys would be very busy with what you already have. Plain border(s) in one of your colors. Good job!

I am in agreement with the others...plain solid color border. It would be too busy if you add anything similar.

With the "X" border I'd go for very simple or it might overwhelm the quilt. I'd use the same mottled brown in the first border, but do a simple scalloped border, so it highlights the pieced border and softens the edge, and bind with the same fabric. LOVE your quilt!!

If it needs to be bigger than a dark brown border and then the binding. The pieced border is beautiful and adding any other pieced border will detract from it.
