Wedding Gift Quilt, Only One Year Late
My son married his lovely wife just over a year ago. Keeping with tradition, I wanted to make them a wedding quilt. I had the hardest time deciding on something... maybe because I didn't know the bride well enough to know her tastes. I even showed them some possibilities and never got a definite answer on what they wanted... I think they were overwhelmed. So I decided to just jump in and make what I wanted. This was a kit of Kaffe Fasset fabrics and who wouldn't love these colors?
It's big and I wanted to spray baste it to quilt on my Juki. Yesterday I cleaned the driveway and taped it out and got it sandwich and spray basted-- outside. Not sure how to quilt it, but will make it up as I go!

Looks lovely! I have a big one to baste as well and I don't have a room big enough to lay it flat without moving furniture. I am going to clean my driveway, put on my knee pads and do it while the weather is nice this summer.

It was HOT down here yesterday and I was trying not to drip sweat on the quilt as I moved around it. I did this outside because of the spray baste. The fumes are terrible in the house, and it's impossible to contain the sticky overspray. I did all the messy stuff outside and then brought it in to quilt it. I normally am not a fan of glue on a quilt, but it sure makes it easy to quilt when it's spray basted.
