That does sound interesting! I would also love to take a class. I wonder if anyone will offer an online class of this technique or if there is a book or online tutorial or something. Huntsville stores don't seem to keep up with the trends sad to say...

ok so I will try and do a tute. I`ve never done one but want to make another crane as I`m not happy with the black bgas I can see the gray thread and eventualy the black will fade.
Will post on main after I get it done . Give me a least a week.

Judy Mathieson has very good step by step instructions for this method in her Mariner's Compass book, this is how I learned the technique. Just do a Google search for Judy Mathieson and you will get lots of hits. Here is one I got for Hancocks of Peducah and this is the right book. http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/Item--i-CT-10406

That's the technique I've been using for the Montana Cartwheel class I took. One difference, instead of the iron, just staple the stack in 2-3 places before stitching with no thread. Use a staple puller to remove the staples. The stitching sure does make it easy to fold. Someday I'll get the camera back from my husband and post a picture of my progress so far, about 70 arcs, I think! :D

I forgot to say that if you are doing the stitching without thread thing, you just stitch through a pattern piece, no need to have all the pieces printed because the stitching takes the place of that. Since you do a stack at one time and can reuse the freezer paper pieces 6 times or so, it goes fast and you don't need to worry about gumming up the printer.
