Wow is this a neat tecneque. No paper to rip out.Hard to explain but if you get a chance take a class.
You fold the paper on the lines and leave 1/4 and sew against the fold.

Very cool. That would be fun way to do it, taking the paper out is the only part that I don't like!

i'll be on the lookout for this class too-sounds very interesting, i may even have to ask about it at our LQS and see if they can teach it?! You never know

This is the same technique as freezer paper PP. I love not ripping and the shiny coating on the freezer paper, when ironed to the fabric helps to stabilize it and hold it for you while piecing. It is a faboo technique. Judy Mathieson (sp) who specializes in Mariner's compass quilts gives very good directions for doing it in her book.
