what was I thinking?

I'm inspired! I've had fabric sorted by color in boxes that business envelopes come in (the big office sized boxes like a huge shoe box) and I rarely use fabric from them. I can really clear out my precious fabric storage spaces if I went through them and cut them all into larger-sized and a smaller-sized squares (maybe 5" and 2 1/2") and store them that way, sorted by color. I think I'd soon sew them up into projects and I wouldn't be storing a whole bunch of scraps too little to do things with. Thanks for motivating me!!!!

As for these scraps, you may need to go through and sort them. My mother is very organized and goes through her scraps right after her project (for her, ONLY ONE AT A TIME). Then she puts the 1", 2" or 3" width strips in designated sections of her cupboard. When the bag is full, she makes scrappy tube lap quilts for the nursing home folks. Sometimes she needs just a small amount of fabric for a flower, eye, etc. and knows just where to go to fulfill the need.
There are people on here that might also take your overwhelming load off your shoulders (or couch so you dog has more room). You might be surprised at how much you get through in 15 min/day.

girl, don't you know it!
I get myself into more "good ideas", than I can shake a needle at!
But I enjoy it all,...but these "good ideas" can be time consuming.
I tend to do a lot of daydreaming and come up with more ideas...oh, the "goodness" never ends
