Thanks for posting this. I love this pattern. Last night I dug out some scraps and made one block using half triangles. It went together fast and looks great. I am thinking that I might need a new king size quilt for my bed using this pattern.

After studying the block a bit, I made a 'mock-up' 12 1/2" block. I used the square-in-a-square and quarter square triangles as opposed to all those HST's!! It came out well except there was more fabrc waste than I like. All in all, a fun block. I'm looking forward to trying it on other sizes!

I made one of these blocks yesterday, using 1/4 square triangles. I used 5" squares, sewed around all 4 sides, then cut on the diagonal twice. Trimmed the resulting squares to 3 in, then sewed them together according to the picture.

It's a very pretty block. Be careful of directional prints. Stand back from the fabric and look at it. I made a carpenters wheel using the pattern from quilters cache and one of the fabrics was a bubble print. Did not realize it had a suttle direction to it until it was sewn - luckily not quilted. Standing back and looking at it the mistakes popped big time. Took some unsewing but I got it done. The triangles make sewing it easy - no "Y" seams but they can get you into trouble with the directional prints.
