I attended a Bridal Shower today. I crocheted edges on 5 flour sack dish towels. I also gave her a swifer with 2 crocheted reusable covers. She held up the towels and gave a polite thank you.
Her mother just called me to say that her daughter was looking at all her gifts from the shower. She looked at her mother after looking at the towels again. She said they were beautiful but asked what they were for. Yikes. Thank goodness her mother knew they were dish towels.

Those are so pretty. Hopefully she'll have a dishwasher! They look too pretty to use, what a great gift.

I think so many folks use dishwashers now that I believe much of the younger generation have no idea what a dish towel is. I call them tea towels but that is what my mom called them and I still use them to dry my dishes. I have a dishwasher but seldom use it.

They're beautiful but if she's a young bride I'm not surprised that she didn't know what they are.
I agree that they're much too pretty to use, at least in my house. My DH is the cook and he's sloppy! lol
