I found it going through some items that my Mother had boxed up - I'm going to visit my newest great-niece at the end of the month and plan to finish this quilt to give to her from her great-grand mother that would love loved her sooooooooo much if she were still alive.

My question is... what is the name of this pattern?

The squares are 6.5" each - what size stripping and borders do you recommend to make it large enough for a baby quilt?

If I had the name of the pattern, I could google to give me some ideas how I can build upon these squares. I am going to finish the last 2.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Kris

It looks like a Wagon Wheel Block.

Turn the squares around different ways so you can get an idea of the different patterns. I like to have some half circles and different positions of the fans. I like these pieces. They will make a neat quilt.

Looks like the fan block to me also. Google images of fan block quilts. There are lots of ideas there.

Put a pretty sashing around each one and you will have a beautiful quilt.

You can also google quilts with drunkards path blocks and set them in different ways. What a treasure you have found.

It's a Grandmother's Fan. Have fun deciding how to lay them out! :)
