A good friend asked me to make curtains for a spare room at her house. It is a huge room that could be used for meetings, parties, etc. She just wanted to duplicate the curtains that the original owners had put up 25 - 30 years ago because they matched the red and white tiles on the floor. She had the room painted and the old curtains were faded. After measuring and calculating, we purchased 13 yards of quarter-inch red and white gingham check for curtains for two windows. Each curtain is 58.5 feet long! This was not "hard" sewing, but definitely time consuming. Thankfully, she was pleased with the result.
