Default Winter Throw Quilt for the Couch

Another quilt I recently finished and haven't yet had time to photograph until now. This one was made from a charm pack ("Snowman Gatherings") I got in the Christmas stocking I received in our guild's annual stocking exchange last year! Nothing too fancy, since it's just to keep us warm on the couch and I wanted it done fast. This is the first time I've quilted anything large on my machine...I usually hand quilt because I can't machine quilt anything but sort-of straight lines, lol. Turned out pretty OK though, I think. The border and backing fabrics are fabrics I had lying around.

The outer brown border on the front is from my grandmother's stash though...she has Alzheimer's and is starting to forget me, so it's nice to be able to be cheered up a bit by remembering the times we sewed together when I was really young by using fabric she gave me from her stash and whenever we cuddle up with this couch quilt.

Again, sorry everything's a bit dark...gloomy German weather's to blame! If I waited for the sun I wouldn't get these pics up til the summer!

I am also a fan of blues and browns together. I have yet to make that color combination but it is definitely on the bucket list. I like your backing too.

A very pretty soft, cuddly looking quilt. Perfect for the purpose you have made it for.
