Default Wintu basket motifs

A friend of mine supplied me with drawings of traditional basket motifs from a local tribe. I turned a few of them into quilt patterns then a quilt as a gift for her. the top pattern is called frog fingers, near the bottom, which we know as delectible mountains is swallowtail. the small HST row is waves. The one in the middle of the trees is called deer sign. Another is rattlesnake tail. I hope you enjoy this quilt The bottom is leaves on branches.

Amazing quilt and amazing detail to native patterns...I'm sure your friend will be thrilled for the gift. I'm from a Northern California tribe and see those same designs in some of our family's basketry. Great job!

That is a beautiful quilt and I'm so glad you told us the names of the designs. I found that fascinating! Thank you.

Thank you, all of you.
Sister 1, I am glad my efforts did not give offence.
Kathy T, I enjoyed learning the pattern names, so I thought others might as well. I don't know the name of the pattern between the snake tails or the row of diamonds pattern.

My friend does like her quilt. another friend asked for the patterns because she wants to make one for her DH, who is of the same tribe.
