I usually like to wait until I have a project completed before posting a pic but I am just so excited about my current WIP I had to share. Here are pictures of my dragon and tiger quilting. The quilt is a mariners compass quilt but I am only giving you a teaser of my dragon and tiger. This quilt is for my brother and the quilting is designed on his tattoo!

Here are a couple of close ups. Each dragon and tiger are about 24" long and I am doing a set in each corner of the quilt so 1 of each down, 3 of each to go!

You are correct. I didn't pay real close attention but I am guessing the dragon took about 8 hours or so to quilt and the tiger about 4. I do my hand quilting at night while watching TV so you know how it goes, something really exciting happens on the boob tube and you stop and watch. Then I go back to it, get up go to the bathroom, have a snack quilt some more. I had the dragon in the hoop for 4 days so that is why I am guessing around 8 hours but it may not be that long.

Holy monkeybuckets, that is fabulous!!!! (Also, I would love to see your brother's tattoo.) Did you free hand the pattern, or use an enlarged copy of his inkwork? My daughter did a painting of a yin/yang, dragon/tiger when she was in 6th grade. It's one of her favorite images, and I'd love to quilt it for her!
