Perfect for a man...it's striking...and a black border will make it pop.

I think it is awesome for a son. Why don't you try the actual piano key border that was put on the board in the past couple of weeks. I asked for permission to use the pattern and she graciously permitted use of it. The only thing, it takes time but, is very beautiful. It looks as if you can sit down and start playing the piano when you get finished with it. I am using it on a D9P with musical fabrics and it looks great. Just my opinion though, Hester

I do like the piano key idea very much but commencement is May 14th and I'm not very fast (pretty new at this) so I'd never get it done on time. Thanks for the idea, though.

Wow -this is amazing. Looks like you only have it on your planning board and no squares are put together. It will take on more life as you get it more together - have patience with yourself - you will love it, as will your son.
Depending on total size you're making I agree 1-2 thin borders and then a wider one. Or as one person suggested the piano key boarder which would be awesome but lots more work.

The number of musical fabrics is phenominal - you must have collected them for some time.

It's great and you included something very important to him. He will love it and be the envy of his friends. You made a winner, don't second guess yourself.
