This is a quilt I made for my oldest granddaughter's birthday. My idea was to make her a lap quilt that she can grow into. She turned 8 Sunday and loved it. I chose the name because some of the fabric has stars and most is floral fabrics. I put flannel on the back. I learned the process of making this quilt at a quilt show this year. The quarter circles have folded bias strips sewn onto them (as you would a flange border). The backqround is actually a square of fabric and the quarter circles are sewn onto the square. Instead of sewing at the edge though it is sewn at the inner edge of the black bias strip forming a flange. I think at the show they trimmed the background behind the quarter circle, but I didn't trim.

The quilt is really square, I just flipped in down on the floor and shot the pic as it was getting late.
By the way, don't pay attention to the date on the photos; I still haven't set the date.

The back is cute and the front is out of this world. She is a lucky girl.
