I just finished this little crazy quilt table mat made out of wool. It was a fun project and I'm already making a new and bigger one.

I found a picture of a cat and just traced it, cut it out of wool and attached it with a blanket stitch. My apologies for the bad photo as the colors are much brighter. Maybe I can find a better photo. Some of the designs are from a great book called Wool Crazy by JoAnn Mullahy.

Very cute, want to try the wool applique but other than kits find the wool hard to locate. Where do you get yours?

I live in a rural area so I have a hard time finding wool too. Not often there might be a quilt show nearby and I usually find wool in a booth or two. Also, going to thrift shops and asking friends for items they no longer use. I most often order over the internet especially Primitive Gathering and Colonial Crafts. I have some larger pieces of wool and would like to try dying it but not sure how to do it with out a being a major project. I love, love working with wool and have made many pieces.
