Do you have a picture of the orange you were considering for the border?

I personally would not put an orange border on it, but if DD is to be the recipient and it is what she likes, maybe you could. Are the sashing type stips red or are they more orange? they look red

I agree with LilRain, orange would not be my choice with the red, but the quilt isn't for me. If your DD likes it and it's for her, then by all means, do it.

I would not use orange as a border on this quilt. Blue would be a great choice for a border cause you have a lot of blue in the blocks!!

Blue; I would go blue for the border! Pick it up from the centers.

If that's what your DD wants, I say go for it. I know my daughter picked out 4 crazy fabrics that do not even go together at all but after it was made(still looked crazy) it is her favorite quilt yet. She lays it on the living room floor to read or play and she sleeps with it every night.
    Everyone has different likes.
