Default Wrapped Up In Grandma's Love

Made for a friend at work. Her sister was having her first baby. A few months before the baby was born, their grandmother passed away. So my friend asked me if I could make a baby quilt out of her grandmother's clothes for the great-granddaughter she'd never meet. The appliqued animals were made out of scraps from my stash. All the other pieces (the background of the animals) and the other squares and lattice work were made out of the grandmothers clothes, mostly PJ's and some shirts. It was presented to the baby at her Baptism. I didn't go to the Baptism, but my friend said there wasn't a dry eye when she opened it up and realized it was her grandmother's clothes.

It is wonderful. What a marvelous keepsake. I can imagine why no one was dry eyed-You must have helped to make that new baby's baptism extra special.

I was going to say that the fish was my favorite... but then I saw the dinosaur. They are all so cute. I especially love the fabric you chose for the fish.

Absolutely adorable. Your choice of fabric for each animal fits each of them perfectly. Great job!
