I have a large deck with several bird feeders on it in the winter. Look whooo was waiting patiently for the restaurant to open this morning when I opened the blinds. The trees were filled with birds sitting motionless and silent, hoping he wouldn't notice any of them. It would be a great day to sew, but we have a half day of school, and then it will be time to deal with the two-day snowstorm we are just beginning to get, plowing driveways, shoveling walkways and roofs. No time for simple pleasures.

I think owls are gorgeous and sooooooo cool! Now.. shoveling the roof.. I've never thought of having to do that but have seen many roofs cave from the weight of the snow. That sounds dangerous! Be careful and I hope you don't lose power, it looks like a horrible storm.

Beautiful owl!! I would love to open my blinds and see that scene, snow and all. We will only be getting the heavy rain portion of this storm. Stay safe out there!!

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! I think wildlife will be one of the things that I will miss when we move in 3 weeks. Well, I guess SOME of the wildlife. We haven't seen many owls right around the house. But there are beautiful owls and hawks and eagles and vultures (<-- ok, not beautiful) in the area, especially at Merchants Millpond. I won't miss - as much - the black bears, and the bobcat that irrate my dogs.
