I just finished the front of my newest Project. YOYO Quilt from the Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Magazine. 409 YoYos and it was so easy. Managed to work on it while watching TV. May start one for a baby or young child with soft colors.

Great YOYOs

WOW! Didn't making all those yo-yos get boring? That's a lot of yo-yo's! Quilt is fantastic. Is the black one (or two) pieces or are they blocks?

maybe it looks like the yo-yo's are on strips? That would work as a QAYG if it is-really quick!

It was 38 rows of 3 1/2" by 42" strips. 28 rows of 10 YoYos with 10 additional rows of 11 YoYos. Stitched every odd row 1,3,5,7.... with 10 YoYo strip stitched to 11 YoYo strip. Rows 2, 4, 6.... were 10 YoYo strip stitched to another 10 YoYo stitch. I then had to stitch each unit of 19 strips together. Found I had to move a few of the YoYos around after putting the strip lengths together as they appeared next to each other. Took time but it went well because I could sit and make the YoYos and ultimately stitch the YoYos to the strips while I was watching TV with Hubby.

The pattern called for teal but the article commented that the black would pop the YoYos better. It sure did. I would do another quilt with the YoYo theme at some point. Glad everyone likes it. I have only been quilting for 6 months and have made 4 previous quilts. I am so glad I started quilting. It is such great therapy for relaxing.
