Default Zig Zag Table Runners

Made 2 table runners for two local benefits in our community this month. The pattern and fabrics (charm squares) are from MSQC, the fall fabric is Turning Leaves by Holly Taylor for moda and the Christmas fabric is Basically Holiday from Benartex Fabrics.

Ahhhh. How I love doing a zigzag edge. My first quilt (queen size no less) I did with small 9 patches set on point so the edges would be zigzag. Then I didn't know how to bind them so got a friend to help me with that. She sewed all the short pieces on by machine (in no time...would have taken me hours!) and I did the hand turning. Then I went back and she did the other direction (again, in no time at all) and I did the hand turning. That was many years ago and I still love it on my bed. I've since done a blooming 9 patch that is put together on the diagonal but does not have zigzag edges...use that on my bed sometimes as well.
