For the past few days, one of the CNN home page top stories covers the wild fires in Texas. For those of you located near the affected areas (I know I've seen lots of Texans in here) please take precautions and stay clued in to whats going on. Some articles mention how some people are nonchalant about the situation and not taking the warnings seriously. Just be SMART and SAFE, we would truly miss you around here if somethere were to happen. Thoughts and prayers go out to all our QB members in Texas !!!

thank you for your concern
|
I have all of you in my thoughts and prayers
|
Thank you for caring. I keep my news channel on all the time even though the fires are further north and west of us. Some of our Schertz firemen are on the front line and we continue to pray for a good storm to blow in!

I'm from Texas, but it's not happening in this area.
Thanks for the update too. |
Thanks for the prayers. Yes, the fires are raging across Texas. Most areas in the west and northern parts are experiencing multiple fires. There are some even today around the large lake south of us. Friday was extremely hazardous around these areas.

We in S. OK are close enough to some those fires that we can smell and/or see the smoke from them. We in Ok are also having lots of grass fires, too, especially where it hasn't rained.

The fires are way west and north of us, and I watch and pray for those who are in harm's way. Down here near the Gulf of Mexico, we are already getting into hurricane preparedness, stocking supplies, water, etc. Hurricane season officially starts June 1. We were lucky last year, so we're probably due one.
My FW is in a rolling cooler in the trunk of my car. If I have to leave in a hurry, I won't be leaving her behind! |
As of today, we are under a burn ban. The marsh grass was on fire the other day. You could smell it at our house. Most of the wildfires are NW of us. We worry more about Hurricanes than fires.

I was born in Texas but now live in California but still have family and friends in both Texas and Oaklahoma, so you are all in our prayers for a safe fire season
