Hi, I have a very busy day and didn't want to foget to post so I'm veeeery early today.

I had the idea of using a fabric that reminded me of a square dance and I had some bandana hankerchief type of fabric and I decided to fussy cut the pattern pieces. The side triangles weren't too much of a problem and you would think the center would be easy. I should have figured out the easiest way to sew the middle but I followed the PPing instead. After ripping it out 8 times I finally got it where I would be happy with it. After every sewing I would look at it and realized "I did it again" how could I be so stupid. At one point my DH couldn't understand why I was cursing !!! I finally had to recut the center piece, scotch tape the paper and resewed it. Only one side triange a little wonky but that's OK..
Squash Blossom not as easy as it looks with all the bias edges. getting the rows lined up even with the PPing.
Have a good day all!! Anne

If I wasn't fussy cutting it would have been a breeze.. If you look at the center square corners. I couldn't get the little boxes to line up evenly because I had to fold over the large square over the border section seam that was part of it. It would have been better if the large center square was the first to lay down. EQ had it as the last piece to add in that section. I really wasn't paying too much attention when I started sewing it. Ugh!!

Oh am I in the wrong league of perfect quilters, 'cause ladies, I am not perfect at all..all the blocks of mine have errors in them so its never going to any quilt show where they "judge" the quilt...its made to be a family heirloom.. .a treasure to be loved by famly (I hope) with its diary to tell the story of the quilter (me) doing the farm memory blocks or simply to tell the story as I remember the farm life.

Grandson (who will be three years old tomorrow) loves the farm now, to run all day outside, chasing cats, chasing the chickens, and running around the house numerous times. Daughter and son-in-law encourage him to run so he sleeps better at night. For the chickens and cats sake, its a good thing he only visits a couple of times a year!!

Important NOTICE!!

this message is about next weeks blocks. I just caught a big mistake in the PPing Patterns from the Yahoo Site.
Block # 88 Star of Hope is not as pictured in the book. If You are PPing the "L" shaped segments that are on 2 sides of the center square are the squares that are not as pictured.
The photo shows 4 HST"s on the 2 sides not counting the corner square. BUT the EQ PPing pattern shows 5 HST"s on both sides.

Now I have to change my rotary cutting instructions because I take the measurements from the PP Patterns.

I kept on looking at it and looking at it and It took me awhile to figure it out. I'm not going to change my block it's already done ...I wonder if anyone noticed the boo boo on the yahoo site. I'm going to check out the photos. Hee Hee..this is too funny! Anne
