I have just purchased a Bernina 180 for $700. I did not do a lo of research but I am hoping it is not overpriced.

I know that the machine will read exp designs. Can I download in that format without having bernina software?

I'm not sure about the going price, I haven't researched it. But I've had my Bernina 180 for 9 years and it's running great. I only have it set up for embroidery. You do need the software and the serial port cable to transfer designs that you download from the internet or by disc.

I have Bernina Art Link. I also have Designer Gallery but that will not convert to Art format. It will convert to exp. I'm hoping for the best.

How much editing such as reducing size, mirror image, etc does it do?

A Bernina 180 is selling retail at my LQS for $1800.00. I'd say, You done good!"

Thanks for telling me. I didn't really do enough research before I made the plunge. It was really a spur of the moment purchase.

I haven't done very much embroidery but the sewing machine will reduce a pattern by 20%. It also has the capability to mirror image.
