I know of "Warm Wishes" and even "D9P" but are there any other quilts that I could make when using a novelty print? When our local Wal-Mart started to clearance out their fabric department, I picked up a lot of "Littlest Pet Shop" fabric for my girls. It showcases some cute little pets but I'm not sure about the best way to put it into a quilt. Are there any other quilts that you can think of that would showcase a fussy cut pet?

This is a google image of one of the fabrics.

I have the same problem with a sports quilt I want to make for someone. I am thinking the Ohio Star in different sizes on the layout.

I used a really simple 4-Patch pattern to make a music quilt for my granddaughter. I used the focus fabric in 6 inch squares and paired them with smaller 3-inch complementary fabric in a polka dot pattern because that's what she chose. So I had a black background with white polka dots and white background with black polka dots and for the focus fabric I used 8 different music-patterned fabric that she chose and it came out really nice. I am in the process of quilting it now. Very simple and very fast to put together.

This is my favorite pattern when I don't want to cut the fabric in small pieces. Plus it's quick and easy!

I just finished one called "just can't cut it"! Wonderful- fun, fast and most of all easy (as I am new to quilting). You use your focus fabric and 5 others to go with. Mine was butterflies and I picked out the colors in them. You use 12" focus as 1 square and put 2 rectangles and 3 squares together to make another square ( comes out to 12" also). and repeat. would be glad to share pattern.
