I started these blocks a decade ago, before I really knew what I was doing in quilting (and barely do now!) They are kind of bland and I never was inspired to continue with them.

Just curious to see what some of you might suggest for them...

I would put some sashing around them, put a border on and put a backing on them. I like them. I am working on saving shades of browns to make a quilt for ME.
You really should finish it. :)

I would probably do a simple black sashing which would make the blocks really stand out.

I would sew then together using a bright fabric with a matching border.

Definitely sash them to add some color but they are beautiful for a neutral colored quilt too. Hope you show us how you decide to finish it. Beautiful blocks.

Since they are the friendship star, send them to you newest friend....ME!!!! I think they are very nice...

Looks like the prints have a deep red/ burgundy in them as well as a dusty blue (if my monitor is true). I would add some solid blocks alternating with the print star blocks, and also use a solid for sashing. Would really make the stars stand out I think. Nice work and restful colors. Let's see what you decide to do. So many different ideas.

What about a rich brown to hi-light the neutral blocks. I'm more an in your face BRIGHT kind of girl.

I would add some alternating blocks or some sashing of a brighter/darker color say maybe dk brown or a navy blue. lay them on top and see what you like and go forward. They are very nice friendship stars !

Perhaps brown or burgandy sashing or spacer blocks to separate the friendship blocks already completed - its going to be a nice quilt.
