I finished the quilt top for my Aunt Helena today. A few weeks ago I was looking for something in the garage and came across these 3 embroideries that I had started but never finished when I was only 10 years old. (that was 40 years ago!) The were supposed to represent my 3 cousins. The youngest, and only boy was killed in a car accident 3 years ago at the age of 39. I knew when I found these that I needed to finish them and since I started quilting this year, I wanted to incorporate them into a quilt for my aunt. I used these bright happy fabrics to bring a smile to her face when she sees it. My cousin died in early January so Christmas has been really hard for my aunt and uncle. I'm hoping to have this finished by Christmas. I need to get it sandwiched and then I can start hand quilting it.
