Arrrr Matey!!! Pirate Mug Mat for a Mate!
 

Hi friends - just thought I'd share a little mug mat whipped up yesterday afternoon.
I've a friend who has voluntarily had his eyelid sewn shut to combat the double vision caused by an inoperable benign tumour behind the eye socket. I know....ewwww. But Mark has to drive for his job, a trainer for Community Services and Youth Services workers, not to mention his social life.
When I quipped that he would have to take in a stock of frilly white shirts to go with his eyepatch, he countered with a comment about buying a parrot for a pet.
I went with a gut feeling to make this coaster for him, so that I can get it into the post for a surprise, as his birthday is on Tuesday.
I really feel that he will react with the big belly laugh that I remember so fondly.
