My 11 year old niece's quilt

A few weeks back I posted about my sister & her girls visiting during their spring break. My 5th grade niece decided she wanted to make a quilt, so we bought a bunch of fat quarters, some batting, and some yardage. On Good Friday, we had a sew-in. She sewed the entire quilt top, except for the last seam. The next day we loaded it on the long arm frame and while I quilted, she used the scraps to piece her sham and a throw pillow. We got it all quilted and bound just in time before they had to head for home.
I'm the goof ball in the second picture. My niece has the classic pose of holding her projects in front of her face. ;) |
How lovely! Thanks for sharing.

My niece did all of the piecing, except the last seam on the quilt, when the chunks were getting really big. I did the quilting and binding and quick mending on the edge seams of her throw pillow. (1/4 seams didn't work so good for us there.) We were quite the team!
My sis tells me that it all went on my niece's bed as soon as they got home. |
She did a great job, nice color placement. We need more up and coming quilters.

Hurray for all of you!!.
