Gee's Bend kits, $30 @ Tuesday Morning
4 different kits, available online now and in stores May 1, 2012.
I can't decide if I should chance waiting or go on and pay shipping...or which one to buy for that matter! http://www.tuesdaymorning.com/crafts.jsp |
Your link really led me nowhere. Says Tuesday Morning, had six items showing and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Thanks! The link did work for me. That seems like a really good price. I just have so many solids still that I would probably not purchse a kit.
Which one is your favorite? I like this one the best I think. http://www.tuesdaymorning.com/medall...it/1172574.jsp and then http://www.tuesdaymorning.com/houset...it/1172571.jsp Besure to post if you do end up ordering a kit. They sure are nice. |

Funny this was just mentioned in our quilt group yesterday. I had never heard of Gee's Bend before then. Thanks for this link.

I think of Gee's Bend as the South's counterpart to the Amish quilts in the North East and Middle America. |
I live in South Alabama probably within 75 or so miles of Gee's Bend. I saw a play based on some of the ladies, have seen some of their quilts in a museum and have bought one of the kits. Haven't gotten around to making it yet. It wasn't one of the ones for sale at Tuesday Morn store, tho. I think their quilts are neat and a bit modern looking in simple colorful designs, others don't like them so much.
Remember that these fabrics will bleed and will need to washed, probably separately before using them. Pretty heavy fabric, too. I esp. liked the one with all the colors and it included the pink. Brenda |
I too love the Gee's Bend quilts and their history. I've marked my calendar to remind me to go to the store to see these kits. Just another chance to go to the Tuesday Morning stores!
