I rarely see the forked pins in quilt stores usually just in catalogs. I don't have any but I was wondering if they are good to match seams when piecing. Or what are they used for?

I use them. I love them and they have really helped with the fabric creeping and the seams being off. If you put one fork on each side of the seam it holds it nice and snug while you stitch. Kind of spendy but I won't do without.

Those seem like a good idea. I know sometimes my seams slip while I am stitching and I have to do them again. They would save me lots!!!! of time.

I use them and I love them. They hold very nicely and help hold your points. You can pin on each side of 1/4 inch seam allowance and leave pins in right up to but not going over they are easy to pull out and don't shift the material. I used them to do the attic windows quilts. I don't use anyother kind of pin when I am trying to line up seams or make points meet.

Everyone I know who uses them just loves them. I keep meaning to buy them and haven't gotten around to it yet. Now I think after reading the endorsements here I am simply going to have to go buy a couple packs; one for me and one for my Secret Sister in my local guild.

I've gotten my forked pins from my LQS, and they are the greatest! For those of you who don't know about them (I believe they're fairly new), they are a U-shaped, two-pronged pin to hold seam lines together -- and they are wonderful for perfect points. After matching your seam lines, you just attach the pin, with a prong on each side of the stitching. (Did I make sense at all?!)
