help information needed genie singer

I got a genie singer sewing 353 ( 1970S) on ebay, I used it a week, was doing ok.
Then a little sq. nut looking thing fell out. I looked at the machine & parts
on line. Saw where it should go, it was so small. I took to my sewing repair shop.
They looked at it and said it was part of bobbin winder stopper.
They could not find the part. They could clean & service for 80. not bad.
But it would not rewind bobbin right. Does anyone know where to get one.
Or should I. This model may not have parts avaiable as feather weights and other vintage
machines do, should I sell for parts. Not a sewing machine fixer. I have 100. in it now.
I am wondering if it may be a money pit.

Try the bobbin winder from WalMart. It will come in handy. My daughter has one and every time I go there I wind a couple of spools of white thread on bo bobbins. Some of the live chat ladies have 20 or more wound ahead so it won't interrupt their prime sewing time. This will give you more time to find the parts at Sew-Classic.com.
