last week i posted a little raggy quilt i put together for my neice having our first (family baby) in 12 years....today i finished fusing all the appliques on her (real) baby quilt---the raggy's are fun & easy- great to toss on the floor for baby to lay on---but this one...this one is special! i still have to stitch some of the appliques- but i needed a break & was so happy to have it this far decided to snap a few pics---just finish stitching appliques, then layer, quilt & bind- ready for April 25 shower. :)
and i found out last night my nephew & his wife are expecting now too....no babies for 12 years,,, now 2 this year...guess it means the next generation is growing up.

Ooohhhh!!!! Delightful! Where did you find the pattern? I love it!!!

Edit: I just found the pattern. Thought it looked like a McKenna Ryan quilt!

BUT I like your fabric choices much better.

That one is special. I'm sure your niece will love it. Recognized it as a McKenna Ryan quilt right away! I have three of her patterns!

the pattern is a Mckenna Ryan pattern- called Giraffic Park--it's fairly old- the pattern(s) are 7 separate ones- you can choose to make each block individually into an (art quilt-wall hanging) or with the 7th block are instructions for making all 7 blocks into the whole quilt- I've had the patterns for 8 or 9 years (copyright on them is 2003)
i've made a couple individual blocks & used before- this was the first time i decided to make the whole quilt (actually wanted to make the whole one for a long time- just didn't have a good reason to i guess...neice/new baby gave me the perfect excuse) :D
