new ruler for triangles

Anyone tried the new Bloc_Loc ruler for half square triangles. it was demonstrated at our quilt show earlier this month. I would have loved to have bought one, but had already hit my budget limit. Am interested in hearing if you have tried it and how you like it

My quilting buddy has purchased them (a set of three sizes) and she LOVES them. She says it does 'lock' on the seam and no movement as in regular rulers we use to square up HST. There is now a larger one (#4) out. They are not cheap, so one would have to 'budget' for them.

I've only seen good reviews for them. I wouldn't mind having a set myself. One of these days.

I won the 2 1/2, 3 1/2 and 1 1 /2" size from a blog give away when the rulers were put on the market. They sure help me a lot when I make a Bonnie Hunter pattern. I think there are eight different size rulers.

While they look good, I doubt I'd buy any of them.

I prefer my That Patchwork Place/Martingale square up ruler. Yes, I do have sandpaper dots on the bottom of it. I like this because it doesn't matter the size of my seam allowance and doesn't move around. It is marked in 1/8" increments.

I usually do a need vs. want test and the Bloc-Loc rulers aren't even a want for me.

Never seen or heard of them. I can do most anything I want with the rulers I have. I have bought some and never used them.

Everyone is different, and has their different favorite tools, however, I LOVE MINE!!!!! The triangles come out perfectly. With other rulers & sandpaper dots, plastic grippies etc, the ruler still seemed to always move on me. The channel in these rulers keeps the fabric from moving and the seam ends up exactly in the corner.
I also had an opportunity for a hands on demo, which convinced me. They've been out for several years.

I just won a set of EIGHT of these rulers at a conference last weekend and I can't wait to have an excuse to use them!!:p

You could help me with my quilt that calls for 160 HST's!

Thanks everyone. Seems like the general consensus is that people who have them love them. And yes, they are not cheap, but half square triangles can be a headache. And I am one of those people that likes all corners to meet perfectly
