Anyone know how The Mentalist ended March 23?

We missed the end of the program...for some reason it started late. We saw it up to the part where Jane (sp?) was taken outside in the snow. Grace's husband had been shot...she was outside with Jane (Jayne?). AUGH! if anyone can share the ending...thanks! Why it began about 40 minutes late, is a mystery...we record these and thought an extra 1/2 hour at the end would cover most blips.

Here's a little summary I found.

I think it started late because of the Spring Basketball Tournament or some sports. Everything was late.

You can watch it on-line, free. Just go to the web site.

As Haibach was going to chop Jane's fingers, Rigbsy came out and shot the bad guy. Then the FBI showed up in a helicopter. Next scene was all of them in Rigsby's hospital room with the whole original cast chatting. Then the head FBI agent and woman came in. He offered the husband and wife jobs but they declined.

Thanks, everyone! I went to the website from Slbram17, but it didn't let me know if Jane had a finger chopped or not. So Caseraph, your post was most helpful. Ladibug, yes, it was probably the basketball. We have the recordings set to go through the news that comes after the Mentalist, but it just wasn't long enough this time!! Hadn't thought to watch it online, Always Learning, but will do that if needed next season. Thanks for the help, everyone! :-)

This is one of my favorite shows too!!

ENDING:

As the ax was raised to cut off one or more of Jayne's fingers…..Grace's husband stumbled out of the house with the shotgun that the "bad" sister left in the house - and shot/killed the bad guy……Jayne grabbed hand gun from body and held "bad" sister at bay….Grace hugging husband and crying….rescue helicopter flies in and circles…….Jayne faints…pan out scene - Jayne and bad guy lying in the snow……..Grace and Husband with bad sister standing as helicopter begins to descend……………final scene in hospital room with Grace and Rigsby…….and the whole bunch…….FBI guy offers Rigsby and Grace jobs which they decline……..(at least for the moment - who knows what the future will bring)…….

Thanks, Shorebird. You filled in some details that helped. We don't have many programs we can't miss...but Good Wife and Mentalist are two. They often seem to run late due to sports events, so we added a full 1/2 hour to the record time...and thanks to nice people here on QB, we know what happened in those last minutes of this season. Thanks all! You are just the best!

You can download CBS and watch the whole show...at least I think it is on CBS. You can also download NBC also. I did this on my IPad last fall when CBS and the cable company were in negotiations. It made me want to cancel cable.

1Screech, I've never downloaded a whole program. Is there a charge for that? Not trying to change the subject, but this is definitely good to know for when a program is delayed, etc. We have satellite dish instead of cable, and often lose reception with the thunderstorms that pass through. Thanks for the info.
